in Prienai district, we gathered to learn about nettles and dandelion roots at the Outdoor Experiential Education and Sustainable growth education. Nettles, a “stinging” plant, have always scared us because they can sting. But yesterday we learned about the benefits of this plant. It is an excellent source of calcium and minerals, and more. Not interested? What do you think about the fact that energy bars, sweets, can be made from nettle seeds? Now we must be intrigued! Participants had the opportunity to make these healthy treats. Of course, to make it even more interesting, we also discussed the benefits of dandelion roots.
Project goal: To educate the inhabitants of small towns and suburbs in Lithuania and Turkey to be role models in environmental protection and sustainable practices.
The project “Outdoor Experiential Education and Sustainable growth” is partly funded by the European Union.
